Meet Our Team

It is important that you know and trust who will take care of your precious wee person while they are with us. Below are profiles of the team at Kidditech, please take the time to have a look at their profiles and find more about our passionate teachers. Our team are professional in their approach to providing rich learning experiences and a fun environment for young children. Our teachers are provided with a minimum of 4.5 hours per week office time in which they write learning stories for the children, plan for the children’s interests and design project work. The Ministry of Education Regulations stipulates a minimum teacher: child ratio and we better this to maintain higher than minimum standards.

We are a very friendly approachable team at Kidditech and would love to meet and get to know you and your child.

I’ve been at Kidditech since 2010. After a couple of years here I headed off on my big OE. However, after an amazing 2 and a half years travelling some of the world it was time to come home, I loved being at Kidditech so just had to come back! After being in a teaching role for a few years I moved into the centre leader role here leading the teaching team.

When I’m not travelling I love relaxing with a book, heading out of town to enjoy the countryside and spending time with family and friends.

I love working with children as I get to learn alongside them and encourage their ideas as new discoveries are made. I enjoy developing and inspiring children’s learning through fun and creative activities.

I have been part of the Kidditech Whanau since 2012. I come from a Playcentre background where I worked with children and their families for 20 years. I have 3 grown children of my own, a son Shea and two daughters Tamsin and Krista. I enjoy gardening, walking and spending time with friends old and new over a good cup of coffee and yummy food.

I value relationships in my teaching believing that these provide the pivotal foundations for rich learning amongst all those I work with, children, families, team members and wider society. I also have a love for our natural world and am therefore passionate about creating and instilling the need for a sustainable culture for this generation and those to come.

I have been an early childhood educator since 2010 both in a leadership position and as a teacher. I have worked with all ages in a variety of settings. I got into teaching as I enjoy the fun and spontaneity of the early childhood years and the joy we can bring to children’s lives.

Outside of teaching I play Roller derby which is a full contact sport played on roller skates, I can also be found skating around Hagley park in the weekends. When I am at home I am a big reader and will generally go through a book every few weeks. I have done a lot of travelling with my family and friends and my favourite place in the world would be Prague.

I look forward to working with you and your children and helping them on their journey of becoming competent, confident learners, healthy in mind, body and spirit.

Degree in Early Childhood Education

I’ve been part of the Kidditech since January 2017 for 2 days a week while studying towards my degree in Early Childhood Education. I have always known I’ve had a passion for teaching young children. This started when I was Irish dancing, working with and alongside the younger dancers.

My partner Ben and I have a daughter so my days that I’m not working consist of family time, gardening, house renovations and being outdoors.

As a teacher, I believe providing an environment that allows children to; explore, experiment, learn and develop independence is one which they will thrive in.

I first joined the Kidditech whanau in 2010 as a reliever, I then returned in 2015 after being full time mum to my children, Molly and Lachie. Both of my children were fortunate to be part of the Kidditech whanau in their preschool years.

When I’m not busy teaching I love spending time with my family camping and waterskiing.

I love working in a team environment caring for children, laughing alongside them. Forming strong relationships is the key to supporting children’s learning and social and emotional well being. I love being spontaneous and having fun.

Our Management

Hi, my name is Lou, I co-own and manage Kidditech with Matt. I am at the centre on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, Kidditech is my passion and I really enjoy my role. It is a privilege to be involved in the lives of the families at Kidditech and the small community oriented centre enables us to offer a high quality service. I take pride in ensuring our team is happy and inspired enabling them to offer an inviting, fun and creative environment for the children.

After graduating and gaining experience as an early childhood teacher I wanted to create a great early childhood centre with a difference. There was a lack of science based experiences being offered to children in centres that I had worked in so that formed the basis of my centre vision. I have a passion for questioning, exploration and finding out why? With my husband Matt being a mechanical engineer and also passionate about science and technology we combined our interests and created Kidditech. A small homely early childhood centre that is both; a great place for our teachers to work, and a rich learning environment for children. We both believe relationships are key to all we do and inspiring others is vital, we operate Kidditech with those ideals.

I am a keen baker and share this interest with the children whenever I can, I enjoy reading, camping, gardening, and pretty much anything that involves being creative.

Matt and I have two sons Riley and Tom and family is very important to us.  I thoroughly enjoy the time I get to spend with my family and love to share my interests and creativity with my boys, gardening, baking and building stuff.

Hi my name is Matt, I co-own Kidditech with Lou and work at the centre on Mondays and Wednesdays. Lou and I set up Kidditech in 2008 and we are both are passionate about what we offer to children and families.

I work closely with the team keeping the ICT side of things up to date. I enjoy the creative aspect of early childhood education, building and fixing toys with the children at Kidditech. I involve the children in fixing broken toys and they love to help.

I am a keen footballer and I like to get out tramping and four wheel driving in my spare time. When I’m not at KIdditech I care for my 2 boys Riley and Tom who also love to be active outdoors and especially enjoy building Lego creations.
