Dinosaurs

Dinosaurs quickly became a shared fascination among our children. When we suggested exploring dinosaurs as our next project, excitement filled the room! The children eagerly shared their ideas, questions, and stories — ready to dive into a world of discovery and prehistoric adventure.

Our teaching team met to plan new experiences that would inspire the children’s curiosity and learning. Together, we brainstormed ideas and explored what the children already knew about dinosaurs — and what they wanted to discover next.

The children were deeply engaged throughout the project, using tools, resources, and technology to explore their own working theories. They created salt dough dinosaur bones, sewed soft toy dinosaurs, and made collage wall charts filled with colour, numbers, and imagination. There were trips to the local library, lots of messy play, and even designing box and fabric dinosaur dress-ups. From learning about life cycles to paleontology, this project was full of creativity, exploration, and excitement!

To celebrate the end of our dinosaur project, we hosted a spectacular Dinosaur Wearable Arts Show for our families. It was wonderful to see such a big turnout — mums, dads, grandparents, siblings, and friends all came to cheer on the children. The children proudly modelled their creative costumes, showing off the hard work and imagination that went into each one.

This celebration was not only fun but also a chance for children to share their learning, express their ideas, work together, and shine with confidence. It was the perfect finale to an exciting project about these fascinating prehistoric creatures.
